Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan pays an official visit to China

  On 12 August 2009, upon the invitation of His Excellency Xi Jinping the Chinese Vice-President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces started an official two-day visit to China.

The Crown Prince held talks with His Excellency Hu Jintao the Chinese President, His Excellency Wen Jiabao the Premier and His Excellency Xi Jinping the Vice-President respectively. Before the talks, a welcome ceremony was held in honor of the Crown Prince.

The leaders of the two countries exchanged opinions on bilateral relations, China's relations with Gulf Cooperation Council and several international issues of mutual concern. The talks led to full consensus by both sides on boosting friendly cooperation in all areas, especially energy, economic and trade, investment and culture.

The Crown Prince emphasized the position held by the United Arab Emirates to uphold One China Policy and support the Chinese Government in its endeavor to safeguard national unity and stability.

A number of agreement and MoUs including culture and energy cooperation were signed during the visit.

His Excellency Gao Yusheng, Chinese Ambassador to UAE, accompanied the Crown Prince during the visit.
