On September 29,2009, H.E Gao Yusheng, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China and his wife hosted a grand reception celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in Emirates Palace Hotel. Attending the reception were HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saeed al Nayhan, member of the Abu Dhabi ruling family, Mr. Hashimi, UAE President's legal advisor, Major General Mubarak Salem Alradha Almazroui, Commander of the UAE Land Forces, Mr. Abdulla, assistant foreign Minister of UAE,Younis Haji Khouri, Undersecretary of UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry and other dignitaries, friends from the industrial and commercial circles, foreign diplomats in UAE, media representatives, Chinese Community and Chinese enterprises, which totaled about 650 people.

At 8pm, the national anthems of the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China were played by International Music Institute and al-Khubairat School, signaling the start of the reception. Ambassador Gao Yusheng addressed the reception, in which he briefed the audience on the remarkable 60 years China has passed, especially during the past thirty years of reform and opening up. He elaborated the great achievements made by the Chinese people, which serve as strong support to the whole Chinese Community abroad. Ambassador Gao then made positive comment on China-UAE relations, stressing the importance of the visit by H.E Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to China this August, which he said would strongly boost further development of bilateral relations.

The guests congratulated China on the achievement made during the past 60 years and expressed happiness in seeing a more open and confident China. The Chinese Community felt proud of the success achieved by their beloved country and gave best wishes.
